Over a hot meal from the grill discussion ranged from wildlife encounters, hilarious in retrospect and no doubt frightening in experience, to the National Forest Foundation grant that made the day possible. Special thanks to all of you who came out! –Megan Eno

One of our newest Chapter members (as of today!),

Paul Geyer of Tallahassee, will be starting a

thruhike of the Florida Trail, going from north to south,

on Saturday September 27th. You can follow along with

him on his journey at Trailjournals.com.

We wish him well on his hike!

The Sopchoppy River hike scheduled for September 15 has been cancelled. The hot weather has made it impossible to do trail maintenance on the trail and, also, the leader finds the extreme heat not conducive to an enjoyable hike. There is another hike on the Sopchoppy River scheduled for November 18th.
