50th Anniversary Celebration!
The party begins on the evening of Thursday, October 20th and runs
until the morning of Sunday, October 23rd at the Sanborn Center,
located at 815 S Alabama Avenue in DeLand, FL.
TENT & RV CAMPING
We have secured tent camping at Clearwater Lake Recreation Area, Lake Monroe Park and Gemini Springs. RV camping is at Lake Monroe where full hook-ups are available.
Clearwater Lake has 40 sites with no more than 5 people per site. Each site has a grill, a fire ring, and a table. There are bathrooms with showers and dish washing stations. No alcohol is allowed. Pets are not allowed in the lake or on the trail around the lake. The
rate is $22 per site per night. Clearwater Lake is about 25 minutes from the Sanborn Center in DeLand.
Gemini Springs has 10 campsites with a maximum of 6 people per site. All sites have a fire ring, table, lantern hook, and grill.
There are restrooms and showers available. There is also a primitive group campsite with no facilities that can hold a maximum of 40 people. Check in is noon and check out is 11. Beer and wine are allowed but glass is not, so canned/boxed beverages only lease. Pets must be leashed at all times. Gemini Springs is in DeBary and is about a 20 minute drive to the Sanborn Center in DeLand.
Lake Monroe Park has sites for tent camping and also RV’s. RV’s will get priority at this park as it is the only one with hook-ups. Sites have a fire ring, lantern hook, a table, a grill, water and electricity. There are restrooms and showers available. There is a dump fee of $5 for RV’s. This park is also in DeBary and is about 20 minutes from the Sanborn Center. Check in is at noon and check out is 11. Beer and wine are allowed but glass is not, so canned/boxed beverages only please. Pets must be leashed at all times.
We have booked a block of hotel rooms in both the Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn in DeLand. The Comfort Inn is at 400 E International Speedway Blvd. We have reserved rooms with double beds. Check in is at 2 and check out is 11. The Hampton Inn is at 20 Summit Oak Place. We have again booked double beds. Check in is at 3 and check out is at noon. Please Note: To get the Florida Trail rate at the Hampton, you must complete your registration by September 18, 2016.
Breakfast is on your own this year. DeLand is a great small town with many restaurants. Consult the registration materials you will receive when you arrive for restaurant suggestions. Lunch on Friday is a box lunch. Dinners will be buffets at the Sanborn Center on Friday and Saturday nights and will be catered by 4 R Smokehouse. When you register, please be sure to let us know if you’re a vegetarian. If you purchase meals, you will receive tickets for lunch and dinner in your registration materials. There will be a beer and wine bar at the Saturday night dinner. Beer and wine must be purchased in advance when you register. You will receive drink coupons in your registration materials with which to claim your beverages at dinner.
